I have been making an extension over the last two days. It was almost ready to launch: I had created the GitHub repo and uploaded it, and my Google Chrome Store application was waiting for review…
But then… the code Claude wrote was a little too intense. It did not only ruin my plan to write a WeChat article today—the code also messed up the WeChat editor, and I could not get the text formatting right. It took me two or three hours to understand what had happened. So I put the launch on hold.
Honestly, Claude helped me and defeated me at the same time. 🤣 (Very human of me to blame something else.)
Although, the WeChat public-account platform itself seems unstable recently too. It sometimes crashes.
Still, because this happened, I understood why constraints matter.
For AI, constraints make its output more accurate and safer. For me, they help me see more clearly what I should and should not do, what I missed, and what I spent too much time thinking about…
Anyway, I really panicked when it happened. I do not think this has ever happened to me before: an extension I made managed to mess up its own maker hahahahahaha!
